Choose the purpose of the session
A power run measures an output, a diagnostic booking investigates a question and custom calibration changes the software around the vehicle's configuration. Explain which outcome you need so the appropriate work can be discussed.
Swansea and Ammanford enquiries are handled for appointments at Llandow. The Ammanford workshop-visit guide explains what information to send before planning the journey.
Make the configuration reproducible
List the engine, transmission, drivetrain, fuel and fitted hardware. Include the turbo, cooling, intake and fuelling specifications where relevant. Tell us about previous tuning and provide any available original file or work record.
Changes made between tests should be recorded. A result from a different fuel, hardware arrangement or measurement method may answer a different question from the one being asked now.
Agree suitable testing for the exact drivetrain
Our workshop has 2WD and 4WD rolling-road facilities. The workshop confirms the suitable setup and availability from the exact vehicle details. Read the current dyno session information for the published facilities and booking options.
Send any warning messages, temperature-related behaviour or inconsistent response with the enquiry. An existing fault can change the order of the work; diagnosis may need to precede further calibration.
Read the result in context
Ask what was measured, which units are shown, how the vehicle was configured and whether the comparison was made under comparable conditions. The shape and repeatability of the result can be relevant alongside its highest number.
For a standard vehicle, use the ECU remapping page. For a modified setup, send the hardware and test question; include transmission work if it is part of the brief.
