Power measurement, diagnosis or calibration?
A power run is a measurement enquiry for a vehicle whose condition and test suitability have been checked. It can establish output in the recorded setup. It does not automatically investigate every running concern or include a software change.
A diagnostic session starts with a symptom: perhaps power falling away, inconsistent boost or a response problem. Describe the behaviour in the enquiry so the workshop can decide what checks and testing are appropriate. The plan can differ from a routine power run.
A calibration session concerns the software and the vehicle specification. Include hardware, fuel and previous tuning so bespoke calibration can be scoped properly. Ask which checks and measurements form part of the proposed job.
Confirm the drivetrain and setup
The Llandow workshop has Dyno Developments 2WD and MAHA LPS 2000 4WD facilities. Supply the exact model, transmission and driven wheels, plus any changes to the drivetrain. Equipment being available does not confirm that every vehicle can be tested in every configuration.
Tell us about unusual wheel or tyre sizes, ride height and anything else that may affect the setup. Suitability and availability are confirmed for the vehicle before the appointment. See the current workshop facilities and session information.

| Item | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Power and torque units | Keep units consistent when discussing or comparing results. |
| Wheel or calculated engine output | Establish what the displayed figure represents. |
| Engine-speed range | Shows where the output is delivered, beyond one peak number. |
| Date, fuel and vehicle setup | Provides the context for the recorded run. |
| Before and after records, where included | Helps explain a change using a documented comparison. |
Runs from different sessions or different dynos are not automatically like-for-like. Ask about the measurement method and recorded conditions before treating a difference as a tuning gain. A real customer graph needs its own vehicle details and test notes; this guide does not present an illustrative curve as a workshop result.
Prepare before travelling from Swansea or Ammanford
Send the registration, drivetrain, modifications, fuel and the question you want answered. Include warnings and any previous report. Agree the appointment, preparation and expected scope before making the journey east.
Use rolling road enquiries for testing and ECU remapping for a software discussion. Our Ammanford visit guide also covers the information needed before travelling.
Can a dyno run prove why a warning light is on?
A power figure is not a complete diagnosis. Send the warning and symptoms so an appropriate investigation can be planned.
Can I compare a previous dyno sheet?
Bring the complete report and its setup notes. The workshop can explain which parts are useful for the current question and where the comparison has limits.
